Tinnitus Evaluation

WHAT IS A TINNITUS EVALUATION?

A tinnitus evaluation includes a hearing evaluation (audiogram), and additional testing which assesses the following:

1. The frequency of your tinnitus pitch
2. The level of noise required to mask your tinnitus
3. Your sensitivity to loud noises
4. The amount of tinnitus disturbance

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE TINNITUS EVALUATION?

The purpose of the tinnitus evaluation is to determine if you are a good candidate for the Neuromonics Tinnitus Treatment, which is a tinnitus treatment program that we offer here at Total Hearing Solutions.

These measures are also used to monitor progress of treatment.

WHAT IS THE NEUROMONICS TINNITUS TREATMENT?

The Neuromonics Tinnitus Treatment is an FDA-cleared treatment that has been proven to reduce tinnitus disturbance. The treatment is designed to interact, interrupt and desensitize tinnitus disturbance for long-term benefit.

The Neuromonics Tinnitus Treatment is an easy-to-use medical device that is customized for each patient’s hearing and tinnitus profile. It delivers auditory stimulation through music, which stimulates the auditory pathway with the intention of promoting new neural changes that allow the brain to help filter out the tinnitus sound, thus reducing the disturbance and impact of tinnitus.
